Recap: Bazaar of Health Greeley - When Community Shows Up Against All Odds

On a freezing December Sunday in Greeley, Colorado, the Bazaar of Health proved something powerful: when systems fail, community rises. Despite 20-degree weather, heavy winds, competing Sunday football, and even the presence of ICE in the area, the community still showed up. Families, volunteers, healthcare providers, and advocates stood togetherโ€”not just for services, but for something much bigger: dignity, access, and visibility.

This was not just a health fair.
It was resistance in action.

Courage in the Cold

From 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, hundreds of individuals came outโ€”many bundled in layers, some hesitant, all determined.

They came for care.
They stayed for community.

Every person who stood in the cold made a statement:
access to healthcare is not optionalโ€”itโ€™s essential.

More Than a Health Fair

Led by Julissa Soto and a powerful coalition of partners, the event transformed from a traditional setup into something more dynamicโ€”a mobile, community-driven clinic model that meets people where they are.

Instead of expecting families to navigate complex systems, this initiative brought care directly to the community, removing barriers and building trust in real time.

Real Impact, Real Data

The results speak for themselves:

  • 400+ health screenings completed

  • 176 community surveys collected

  • Dozens of families connected to critical services

But beyond the numbers were real storiesโ€”families who delayed care due to fear, individuals navigating complex systems alone, and community members finally feeling seen and supported.

Leadership That Stands Firm

This event was a reflection of a deeper truth:

Leadership is not comfort. It is commitment.

It means showing up when itโ€™s inconvenient.
It means choosing presence over silence.
It means standing with the communityโ€”especially when itโ€™s hardest.

Julissa Sotoโ€™s leadership continues to embody this principle, reinforcing that:
healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.

A Collective Effort

This impact was only possible because of a powerful, unwavering coalition of leaders, advocates, and professionals who continue fighting for health equity without hesitation.

From healthcare providers to grassroots organizers, each individual played a role in creating a space where care, trust, and community could exist togetherโ€”even under pressure.

The Message Is Clear

The Bazaar of Health in Greeley sent a message that cannot be ignored:

๐Ÿ’ฅ We will not cancel.
๐Ÿ’ฅ We will not stay silent.
๐Ÿ’ฅ We will continue showing up.

Because our communities deserve:

  • Access

  • Dignity

  • Care without fear

And as this movement continues into 2026, one thing is certain:

This is bigger than an event. This is a movementโ€”and itโ€™s only getting stronger.
