Empowering Equity: Julissa Soto's Collaborative Crusade for Health and Social Justice

Julissa's collaborative spirit extends far and wide as she joins forces with an array of stakeholders, including funders, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, school districts, government agencies, and countless others. Together, they forge pathways to deliver pioneering community programs deeply rooted in evidence-based practices.

These initiatives go beyond conventional approaches; they embody innovation designed to dismantle barriers to access. Julissa's approach meets communities precisely where they are, acknowledging and embracing their unique contexts. She ensures that communication is not just effective but culturally resonant, recognizing the significance of language and outreach tailored to specific cultural backgrounds.

Moreover, Julissa's efforts extend beyond mere healthcare provision; she addresses critical social determinants of health that disproportionately affect underserved populations. By tackling these underlying factors, her work not only fosters health equity but also initiates broader societal transformations, empowering communities to thrive against systemic odds.

One School, One Vaccine at a Time

โ€œThis isnโ€™t just a public health campaignโ€”itโ€™s a revolution in how we think about access, trust, and equity,โ€ says Julissa Soto. โ€œWe are breaking down systemic barriers with compassion, community, and courage.โ€

Two Immigrant Women Lead a Health Equity Movement in Aurora Public Schools: One School, One Vaccine at a Time!

A powerful grassroots initiative is transforming public health in Aurora, Coloradoโ€”one school, one vaccine at a time. At the helm of this movement are two immigrant women whose leadership, lived experiences, and deep-rooted commitment to justice are creating a blueprint for equitable healthcare access across Aurora Public Schools.

Julissa Soto and Anne Keke are leading the One School, One Vaccine at a Time initiative, a bold campaign focused on delivering life-saving vaccines, culturally responsive health education, and equitable care directly to students and their families.

Anne Keke, a longtime Aurora resident originally from Cรดte dโ€™Ivoire, is a U.S. citizen, mother, and advocate with a background in criminal justice and community development. Her work centers on empowering underserved populations through education, policy, and community engagement.

Julissa Soto, a nationally recognized Latina health equity leader, brings over three decades of advocacy experience. From founding teen parent programs to serving on the Colorado Vaccine Equity Task Force and consulting with the American Diabetes Association, Sotoโ€™s mission has always been clear: to close health disparities and uplift immigrant communities through culturally grounded strategies.

Together, Keke and Soto are reshaping public health in Auroraโ€”not by waiting for permission, but by leading with purpose.

Their One School, One Vaccine at a Time movement partners directly with Aurora Public Schools to ensure that every studentโ€”regardless of backgroundโ€”has access to the preventative care they deserve. Through school-based clinics, family-focused outreach, and multilingual education, they are making vaccines accessible, trusted, and equitable.

Join the revolution. One school. One vaccine. One futureโ€”equally protected.
