What Is IHAC?
The Immigrant Health Access Collaborative (IHAC) is a growing, cross-sector movement committed to equity, access, and dignity in healthcare for immigrant communities across Colorado.
The recent passage of the federal budget reconciliation bill marks a pivotal and urgent moment โ one that threatens the stability of families and immigrant communities across Colorado.

This bill includes harmful cuts to Medicaid, food assistance, and health insurance subsidies. While framed as fiscal measures, these cuts will deeply affect the very people who depend on these programs for basic health, nourishment, and survival
IHAC is a statewide initiative working to protect and expand healthcare access for Coloradoโs immigrant communities โ regardless of immigration status or type of health coverage.
Founded in response to urgent community needs and shifting policy landscapes, IHAC brings together community-based organizations, public health leaders, legal advocates, and healthcare providers to build a coordinated, culturally responsive approach to immigrant health.
We know that when systems change, immigrant families are often the first to feel the impact โ and the last to be heard. IHAC exists to change that.
Through collaboration, shared resources, and united advocacy, we work to ensure that immigrant voices lead the conversation and that every person in Colorado โ no matter where they come from โ has the right to access care with dignity, equity, and respect.
OUR PURPOSE
To create a trusted, cross-sector network that:
Aligns on policy and advocacy strategies impacting immigrant communities
Coordinates culturally responsive outreach and education
Builds stronger relationships across organizations serving immigrants of all coverage types โ including those on Medicaid, uninsured, and privately insured
What We Do:

Strengthen networks between organizations serving immigrant populations across all coverage types (Medicaid, uninsured, privately insured)
Why It Matters:
Coloradoโs immigrant communities are facing major shifts in healthcare access โ including the expansion of Medicaid and sudden federal budget cuts. This is a critical moment to unite, inform, and ensure that immigrant voices are at the forefront of decisions that affect their lives.
We cannot afford to wait. We must organize now.
IHAC prioritizes outreach and collaboration across:
Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Clear Creek, Denver, Douglas, El Paso, Elbert, Gilpin, Jefferson, Park, and Teller counties.
