Organized in collaboration with Julissa Soto, a tireless advocate for Latino health equity, the event went beyond the format of a traditional health fair. It created a safe and welcoming space where families could access essential health services, connect with resources, and enjoy a day filled with energy, music, and togetherness.

A Day of Care and Connection

From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, attendees received free, high-quality services designed to remove barriers to care, particularly for immigrant and Spanish-speaking families. The bazaar featured:

  • โœ… Free Health Screenings for adults and children

  • ๐Ÿ’‰ COVID-19 and Flu Vaccinations

  • ๐Ÿ“ Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance

  • ๐Ÿฅ— Nutrition Resources and Education

  • ๐ŸŽ Wellness Giveaways

  • ๐ŸŽถ Music, Raffles, Refreshments, and Family-Friendly Activities

Every station was staffed with bilingual support to ensure attendees felt welcomed, informed, and heard.

Bridging Gaps, Building Trust

At the heart of the event was Julissa Sotoโ€™s mission: to advance health equity by meeting people where they are โ€” in their language, in their culture, and within their community.

โ€œHealth equity is about meeting people where they are โ€” in language, in culture, and in community. Thatโ€™s exactly what this bazaar is all about,โ€ Julissa shared.

Her leadership, alongside the support of local partners and volunteers, transformed the church grounds into a hub of healing and celebration.

A Celebration of Community

The Bazaar of Health was more than a service event โ€” it was a reminder that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. By centering cultural responsiveness and accessibility, the bazaar empowered families to not only receive care but also to feel seen, valued, and supported.

As families left with resources in hand and smiles on their faces, one thing was clear: the work of building health equity in Colorado is thriving โ€” and itโ€™s happening together, one community at a time.
