Last Saturday was more than just a graduation — it was a celebration of courage, resilience, and second chances.
Julissa Soto took the stage to deliver what she calls the speech of her life at the Denver Public Schools GED Graduation, a powerful and emotional event honoring students who overcame immense obstacles to reach this milestone.
Her speech, titled “I Am Unstoppable… and So Are YOU,” was more than words — it was a reflection of her journey, her truth, and her unwavering belief in the power of transformation.
“I stood on that stage, not just as a speaker, but as someone who walked the same path.”
Julissa knows firsthand what it means to fight for education and opportunity in the face of adversity. She reminded the graduates that her path wasn’t paved with privilege — she was once undocumented, told she didn’t belong, and constantly underestimated.
But she kept going.
💪 A Celebration of Strength and Survival
The ceremony featured four brave women who shared their personal stories — stories filled with heartbreak and hope, sacrifice and survival. Their voices echoed across the room, reminding everyone that a GED isn’t just a certificate — it’s a declaration of strength.
Julissa’s message to them was clear and heartfelt:
“You are powerful. You are worthy. You are unstoppable.”
And she grounded that message in the faith that sustained her own journey:
“Con DIOS todo es posible.”
With GOD, everything is possible.

🌟 A Message for Anyone Starting Over
Julissa closed her remarks with a call to anyone who has ever felt left behind, shut out, or uncertain of their future:
Keep going. It’s never too late.
Whether you're earning your diploma at 17 or 57, whether you're learning a new language or starting over in a new country — you matter. And this event served as a powerful reminder that education changes lives when we uplift and invest in those too often forgotten.
✨ Why It Matters
Events like this underscore Julissa Soto’s lifelong mission: to create inclusive, empowering spaces where everyone — regardless of background, status, or circumstance — can rise. Her work continues to bridge the gaps in access, opportunity, and belief.
To the graduates of DPS’s GED program:
Congratulations. You didn’t just graduate — you inspired us all.
